One of the reasons Sony's PlayStation 4 game console has outsold the rival Xbox One in the early months of 2014 has been the $100 price difference -- $399 versus $499 -- between the two. In mid-March, Microsoft evened the score a bit, adding the exclusive game Titanfall to new consoles as a bundle. Assuming a $60 sold-separately price on the game, one could argue the base cost of the Xbox One was now just $440.
Walmart is planning to make a splash in the used-games business, the company announced on Tuesday.
Starting March 26, consumers can walk into more than 3,100 Walmart stores across the US and trade in games from the latest consoles, including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U. Customers will receive eGift cards for the value of their trade-in which can be used to purchase of anything sold at Walmart and Sam's Club, both in stores and online. Walmart said customers will be able to purchase "Certified Pre-Owned" games in stores and online starting this summer.… Read more

This week, America's retailers have put on their finest makeup and highest heels in order to make themselves supremely attractive.
My inbox has been full of enticements, all to celebrate the Feast of the Black Eye Friday.
One seductive missive caught my eye, though. It promised: "Black Friday, sólo 3 días con ofertas irrepetibles?."
Well, I suppose my name does look a little Spanish after a few sangrias.
The offers were, of course, very special. A Lenovo Intel Core i7, for example. A mere 579. A Bosch washing machine for just 289.
It was then that my brain intercepted my eyes and whispered: "Hey, those prices are in euros."… Read more
