A fix for Logic crashing in Snow Leopard

Apple's audio-creativity software suites Logic Pro and Logic Express apparently have a bug in certain setups running Snow Leopard, which sometimes leads the programs to crash at launch or when attempting to perform some manipulations to projects. The crashes will happen even if the user has carried out general maintenance routines such as clearing caches and preference files, and even after reinstalling the Logic programs and updating to the latest versions again.

Aperture 3.1 not installing properly on Macs running OS X 10.5.8

Apple's professional image-editing software, Aperture, has recently been updated to version 3.1 though some users running Mac OS X 10.5.8 may not be able to install the update.

Users may find that using Software Update to install Aperture 3.1 fails to upgrade the software. Similarly, attempting to use the manual update (found on CNET's Downloads site) also fails to install the update.

Updates for Aperture and Snow Leopard ProKit are available

Along with the release of Java updates for OS X 10.5 and 10.6 and the firmware updates for the new MacBook Air system to address some possible system hangs, Apple has released updates for Aperture and an accompanying ProKit update for Snow Leopard.

The version 3.1 release of Aperture adds a host of performance and quality enhancements, including library management, face recognition, and small edits like red-eye correction and image straightening.
