Logitech Harmony Smart Keyboard: A living room keyboard and universal remote

Living room set-top boxes have become increasingly sophisticated, but they can still feel backward any time you need to input a long password or search term using an onscreen keyboard.

Logitech's new Harmony Smart Keyboard ($150 list) is aimed squarely at that problem. It's a full-size keyboard that lets you type on (most of) your living room devices, while also offering total living room control in the manner of a typical Harmony universal remote.

The universal remote capabilities of the system are similar to the Logitech Harmony Smart Control ($130), except the keyboard replaces the simplified remote. The … Read more

Apple arcade: iOS game controllers, compared

Whether or not you want them, iOS game controllers have arrived. What do they do? Unlike previous novelties such as the iCade, MFi game controllers are specifically made for iOS 7 according to specifications provided by Apple, and work with a growing list of compatible games that tap into that MFi controller spec, so all future accessories can work.

That's the plan, but in practice, there are still lots of games that haven't updated to take advantage of these controllers. And the controllers themselves come in a variety of flavors: some connect directly with an iPhone or iPod … Read more

Do you need buttons to play games on your iPhone? Certainly not. And yet, iOS MFi-certified game controllers are here, giving you the promise of full game controller-like support for games and letting you theoretically use your phone or iPod Touch like a little Nintendo 3DS or PlayStation Vita.

The Logitech Powershell Controller + Battery is one of those accessories. As its name suggests, it's a case that adds physical gaming buttons, and also has a battery pack. It also costs $99.99. For most people, that's where the train skids off the tracks.

Logitech delivers keyboard case for new Samsung Galaxy NotePro and TabPro tablets

Logitech pulled the wraps off a new case at CES 2014 for Samsung's brand-new Galaxy NotePro and Galaxy TabPro tablets. Appropriately named the Logitech Pro, this folio-style case comes with a full-size Bluetooth keyboard and doubles as a tablet stand.

Designed to fit the new 12.2-inch tablets, the Logitech Pro has a thin design and "durable and wipeable" exterior, according to Logitech. It wraps around the edge of the tablets to prevent scratches on the screen and even protect against spills. Logitech uses its SecureLock system to hold the tablet in place, which is just a … Read more

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas plus iOS 7 controller equals the future of iPhone gaming

There are finally universal game controllers that work with Lightning-equipped iPhones and iPods running iOS 7. Both the Moga Ace Power and Logitech PowerShell offer the potential to turn your device into a little handheld game dynamo by adding buttons. But, there's a problem: it's not easy to find games that support them.

There are supposed to be hundreds of iOS 7 controller-ready games out there in the App Store, but with 1 million apps to sift through, discovery isn't a piece of cake. Games need to be updated to work with these controllers. Luckily, many of the newer games are coming out of the gate controller-ready, and Rockstar's newly released Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the king of the early heap. … Read more

Logitech T400 mouse lets you get touchy-feely with Windows 8

Any video editor will tell you that their work is only as good as the performance of their three-button mouse. Traditional three-button input devices are contemptibly clumsy to use and require a bit of practice to master, but the added flexibility of that extra button can mean a big difference in time management and creativity.

Logitech hopes to bridge the gap between two and three-button mice with the $40 Zone Touch Mouse T400, a companion to Windows 8 devices that features a Zone Strip between the main left and right buttons to navigate movement using simple touch gestures.
