Acorn for Mac review

A powerful image editing application, Acorn for Mac can serve as an inexpensive but decent replacement for Adobe Photoshop, if you don't need highly advanced tools and features.

Pros

Has the basics of Photoshop: While at $50 you can't expect Acorn to rival Photoshop, it does support layers, masks, and gradients. It also features vector, text, drawing, erasing, and shape tools, level and curve adjustments, midtone or gamma tweaking, and custom brushes, as well as a built-in brush designer.

Versatile user interface: Similar to Photoshop and Paint.net, the UI can be rearranged and resized to suit your … Read more

Magic Camera review

Magic Camera adds borders and effects to video or still images, including video chat. It can capture screenshots and video, apply emoticons and objects, paint and draw, add text, record Webcam feeds, and apply a range of filters, masks, and effects. Unfortunately, an awkwardly designed interface, garish graphics, and greeting card style give it the look of a holdover from an earlier age of Windows. Magic Camera is shareware, but you can try it with limited features before buying it.

Pros

Pink icing: If you like it sweet, these designs will probably appeal to you. Not everything is on the … Read more

As Florida Watchdog reports, wise officials has installed red light cameras perilously close to the emergency room at the University Hospital in Tamarac, Fla.

On Monday, Apple finally released iOS 7.1. The update brings with it CarPlay support, bug fixes, improvements, and various new features. One such feature is specific to the camera on the iPhone 5S and HDR mode in the Camera app.
