iBlendy2 review

iBlendy2 is a photo editing app that lets you combine and blend two images together. Although the app works, the interface is difficult to navigate, and we weren't particularly impressed with the results.

Pros

Plenty of options: iBlendy2 contains a large number of blending masks and filters, as well as tools that let you add text, adjust image transparency, and more. We're not able to tell you in any detail exactly what that "more" consists of, however, because the app's features are hidden in a series of poorly-organized menus that make the app a guessing … Read more

LengthControl for Mac review

LengthControl for Mac helps you keep your file names to a particular, predetermined length, so you can stay organized and find things fast. With a streamlined and efficient interface, this program lets you add files, set custom character limits, and quickly make edits to file names, all from one window.

When you open LengthControl for Mac, you can immediately begin searching and editing file names. Start by importing files from your computer, which will show up in a list inside a box on the left-hand side of the program window. This box dominates most of the space, and below it, … Read more

Review: iPubsoft YouTube Video Downloader for Mac lets you download videos in a snap

iPubsoft YouTube Video Downloader for Mac offers you a quick and easy way of downloading YouTube videos to your local hard drive. While it does its job well, it could certainly benefit from deeper OS X integration. Still, it's worth trying out.

The first thing you will notice when launching iPubsoft YouTube Video Downloader for Mac is its appearance, which does not follow the OS X design language. The app has more of a Windows feel to it. In spite of this, however, the interface is pleasant enough and accessible, featuring only a handful of buttons. Downloading videos is … Read more

Review: X-Galaxy for Mac introduces two stunning, new screensavers

Boasting incredible, mesmerizing graphics, X-Galaxy for Mac adds two stellar, animated screensavers to your computer. While it's quite basic with no options to configure, these two screensavers look just great; if you're a fan of Apple's space-themed wallpapers, you'll love them.

X-Galaxy for Mac features two screensavers: X-Galaxy and X-Vortex. Both screensavers can be installed separately, but unfortunately you cannot preview them before installation. Once you install them, they will show up in your Desktop & Screen Saver preferences pane. There are absolutely no options to configure; the two screensavers have been fine-tuned to work flawlessly … Read more

Review: Eternity Warriors 2 looks amazing and is fun to play

Eternity Warriors 2 takes smartphone and tablet gaming to another level with gorgeous graphics and rich content. The only downside is that you'll spend almost as much time waiting for the game to load as you will spend actually playing it. However, it's worth the wait to enjoy this deep, expansive dungeon crawler.

Eternity Warriors 2 takes its cues from popular dungeon crawlers like Diablo as it lets you take control of a powerful warrior, fighting your way through caves full of zombies. The levels get progressively more difficult as you get progressively stronger and use your spoils … Read more

Review: Night Video Cam 2 allows you to take nocturnal videos

Night Video Cam 2 is a useful video tool for low-light or outdoor situations when recording video on your iPhone or iPad. It's not as powerful as similar tools on a dedicated video camera, but considering what the developers are working with in a non-dedicated camera, they've created a very streamlined, very easy-to-use, night-friendly recording tool.

When you launch Night Video Cam 2, there are a few options on the screen to choose from. You can see how much battery you have left, the total space you can record on your phone, the current recording time, and the … Read more

Review: Plants vs. Zombies 2 enhances nearly everything from before.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a truly triumphant return for one of the iPhone's and Android's most popular mobile games, with new features, characters, and game modes designed to keep you hooked for even longer. PopCap's newest mobile masterpiece takes everything that made Plants vs. Zombies great and ramps it up by a factor of three. While some will balk at the free-to-play model, especially after looking at the in-app purchase prices, the game plays well without upgrades and on a technical level is very finely made.

At first glance, Plants vs. Zombies 2 is not unlike … Read more

Review: Print sheets of thumbnails, easily, with handy freeware, Primg

Primg is a Windows image printing tool that makes it easy to print proof sheets, pages of thumbnails, and individual images. Primg isn't a mere print driver; in fact, it uses your installed printers, virtual printers, and printer drivers for the actual printing job. Its job is to ease the tedious and complex process of printing multiple images in customized sizes. Primg is compact and, best of all, freeware. It runs in Windows XP to 8; we tried it in Windows 7.

Primg's user interface has everything where it should be, starting with the left sidebar's tree … Read more

Review: Photo Frames Lite from Imikimi makes frame selection easier

Photo Frames LITE from Imikimi offers familiar functionality with a few unique twists that make finding the right photo frame a bit easier than it would be in a similar app. While there are still quite a few issues in the app, from the unlabeled interface to the frequent reversions that occur while editing, the overall experience is pleasant and the frames are attractive.

When you open Photo Frames LITE from Imikimi, you are shown a number of frames. Using celebrity photos, the developer shows what your images will look like when in frame. To replace them, simply choose that … Read more
