Motorola DVX could be the Moto X's cheaper, rumored cousin

The Motorola DVX could soon arrive as a lower-cost alternative to the flagship Moto X experience, according to recent rumblings.

Having recently passed through the FCC, the DVX documents show support for many GSM carrier's 3G networks. Nearly identical in design to the original Moto X, this phone is rumored to launch with Republic Wireless in October, in addition to the already-cheaper version of the Moto X that the hybrid carrier has committed to sell.

According to recent reports, the DVX will come with interchangeable back plates, but it's unclear whether the device comes with more than one … Read more

When Internet trolls attack: A view from the receiving end

"Whatever you do, don't feed the trolls."

That's what my co-workers always say when I tell them I'm about to read online comments about the CNET TV show I host, Rumor Has It.

"Don't read the comments, comments are stupid."

My internal debate about whether to view the show-related comments is a big one. Especially when user comments are so often nothing more than "First!!!11!" Especially when user comments attack my appearance, sexuality, and gender.

Rumor Has It: iPad rumor avalanche

Now that the iPhone madness has died down, we can all stop talking about Apple for a minute and just relax.

Kidding.

iPad rumors are at full force, which makes sense, since iPad day is rumored to be just around the corner. Speculations run the gamut from it looking similar to an iPad Mini, it being lighter and thinner, and it staying the same 9.7-inch size.

Also this week, Google makes me feel really old fashioned, but I'm OK with that.

Thanks for watching, and check out Rumor Has It's new YouTube channel.

Metal Galaxy F could be Samsung's new flagship device?

Samsung could soon introduce a third premium smartphone experience to complement the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note family, says an industry source (translate).

According to ETNews, the so-called Galaxy F could feature cutting-edge hardware specifications and materials that trump those in its current portfolio. Key among the rumored details are an octa-core processor, a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, and a metal case. This design could see Samsung pushing further into the curved display technology.

Although rumors point to the Galaxy F as an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean device, I suspect that by the time it arrives (if … Read more

Next-gen Nexus 10 could come from Asus not Samsung

A new report apparently confirms early speculation that Google may tap Asus as the hardware maker for the next generation Nexus 10 tablet.

Although much of the Nexus buzz currently centers around predicting the LG Nexus 4 successor, we should also remember that the Nexus 10 is also due for a refresh. While Samsung was once thought as a shoo-in for the title, it's possible that Google may have given the task to Asus.

According to a new leak from PC World UK's internal inventory system, which was tweeted via tipster @Rage06, the "Google Asus Nexus 10&… Read more

Rumor Has It: Twitter wants to be the popular kid

Well, the iPhone 5S and 5C are coming out this week, so we can finally stop talking about what colors they'll come in (lots) and whether the 5S might have a fingerprint scanner (it does).

Don't worry, my Apple-rumor-loving friends: iPad announcements are probably just around the corner, and you know people have already started putting together their iPhone 6 wish lists.

But until then, let's take a little break from Apple, and round up a few other rumors that've been making the rounds the last couple weeks: Samsung might release a Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatchRead more

iPhone 6: Most-wanted features

The drama -- or some might argue, the lack thereof -- is over. The iPhone 5S and 5C have officially arrived, which means it's once again time to look ahead to the next iPhone.

I know. Some of you may be getting bored of this game. But for others, it's still fun to play.

Will it be called the iPhone 6? There's a good chance it will be, though sometimes Apple likes to shake things up a bit, as we've seen with the 5C and the naming of its iPads.

But whatever it is called, I … Read more

More Nexus 5 photos in FCC docs show off its look

The picture gets somewhat clearer for the rumored Nexus 5 smartphone as newly discovered FCC documents provide a glimpse at a fully assembled device that could very well be the next Nexus. These echo earlier findings about the LG Nexus 4 successor.

First spotted by PhoneScoop, the FCC filing shows a variant of Verizon's LG G2 smartphone. Just as the Nexus 4 was a modified version of the LG Optimus G, so appears to be the case for the LG G2 and the so-called Nexus 5.

The photos make the phone appear to be covered in a black material … Read more
