Rumor Has It: Google barges onto the Bay

Now that the iPad and iPhone rumors are done (for the moment), and the Nexus 5 will probably be released on Thursday, we can move on and talk about other things. Finally!

This week, BlackBerry is trying to get itself out of a jam by pimping itself out to prospective buyers. And something weird is floating in the San Francisco Bay, and there are some pretty weird guesses as to what it is. What do you think it is? Let me know in the comments.

Moto X low-cost successor, 'Moto G,' revealed by accident?

It appears a new way to leak upcoming devices may be through Web site snafus.

A new navigation menu popped up on Motorola's Web site earlier Tuesday that was titled "Moto G," according to Droidlife. But, when clicked on, the menu led to a dead link; and, shortly after the menu appeared, it disappeared again.

It's been rumored that Motorola is working on a low-cost successor to its Moto X smartphone. The Moto X is the company's flagship smartphone that is supposed to rival other high-end devices, like Samsung Galaxy smartphones, HTC One, and Apple'… Read more

Rumor Has It: Microsoft wants space on your face

It's time to start talking about the iPad 6.

Just kidding. While the iPad rumor mill stops to catch its breath for a second, I'll round up everything we got -- and maybe more importantly, what we didn't get -- at the Apple event on Tuesday.

Also this week, LG filed for some Chrome trademarks, which has me wondering whether we'll see a Chromebook from LG soon, and Microsoft could throw its hat into the smartglasses ring, which I wouldn't really mind.

Thanks for watching!

Editors' note: I mistakenly said that the "new iPad&… Read more

Amazon listings stoke Apple TV hopes

Will the long-rumored Apple TV refresh finally make an appearance at Apple's October 22 event?

Speculation is running wild Friday after Amazon France and Amazon Germany both indicated that Apple TV units were unavailable and would not be replenished until October 23 -- a day after an Apple event that's expected to bring new iPads, among other things. Amazon US, meanwhile, still has Apple TV units available, as does Apple's own online store. Amazon France was updated with Apple TV stock, but it's being sold through a third-party and not Amazon.

Rumor Has It: iPad 5 wants you to touch-a-touch-a-touch-it

Apple is holding its iPad event on October 22, so all the rumors will finally be put to rest. The latest, which I think will come true, is that the iPad 5 will have a Touch ID sensor, just like the iPhone 5S. A recent video from Unbox Therapy also suggests that the next-gen iPad will incorporate this touch sensor security.

I mean, why wouldn't it? It seems to be a novel idea on the iPhone 5S, and it sure does make buying things in the App Store a bit faster.

Also this week, a new report says that … Read more

T-Mobile poised to scoop up Sony Xperia Z1

Despite not wanting to place much emphasis on the U.S. market, Sony could continue its relationship with T-Mobile. According to a recent leak from @evleaks, T-Mobile is expected to announce the upcoming availability of the Sony Xperia Z1.

Introduced at IFA in early September, the Xperia Z1 can go toe-to-toe with just about any smartphone. On the surface, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean-powered device packs a 5-inch 'triluminous' display with a 1920x1080-pixel resolution, as well as a 20.7-megapixel camera.

Under the hood, you'll find a quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and … Read more
