Lego Batman: DC Super Heroes debuts for iOS

I have unabashed love for the Lego series of video games, which have adapted a wide range of movie series -- "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," "Lord of the Rings," and more -- into improbably excellent action-adventures.

Alas, only two of them have been ported from consoles to iOS: Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Great games, both, but with limited appeal unless you're a Harry Potter fan.

It was a long wait -- almost a year to the day -- but finally there's another Lego game for … Read more

Crave giveaway: Sonic-connect 2 portable media alert

If you're the sort who likes (or needs) to be connected to the goings-on at your desk all day, this week's prize will help ensure you never miss a message from your important contacts.

The Sonic-connect 2, a portable USB device from Sonic Alert, functions like caller ID for your computer, alerting you to select Skype, e-mail, instant messaging, and MS Outlook calendar and task notifications via any combination of customizable alert options, such as flashing lights, rings, or vibrations.

Chances are your mobile devices already keep you plenty connected to e-mails, IMs, tweets, Facebook messages, Instagram photos, and interstellar transmissions from exoplanets. Next Xbox may sell for $499, or $299 with two-year subscription

The next Xbox, which Microsoft will unveil on May 21, will reportedly cost $499, or $299 for customers who also buy a two-year Xbox Live Gold subscription for $10 per month.

That comes from longtime Microsoft blogger Paul Thurrott, who also accurately broke the news of the Xbox unveiling date earlier this month in an interview with the video blog "What the Tech." (His comments about the next Xbox start at the 54:44 mark.)

Microsoft declined to comment on the report.… Read more

Breakthrough: Order Pizza Hut from your Xbox

It's well-known that pizza helps gamers' concentration. It allows them to shoot more accurately and endure more obdurately.

Pizza and gaming go together like fish and chips in England or plates and large portions in America.

Previously, though, whenever gamers had to order pizza, their concentration was destroyed. They had to use ancient machines, like their phones and laptops, to get that pepperoni knocking on their apartment door. In the name of progress, Pizza Hut and Microsoft decided to get together in a darkened room and chew over a new salvation.

Please, without letting go of your controls, welcome the Pizza Hut Xbox app. … Read more
