On paper, Evernote sounds fairly mundane. An information organizer, woo-hoo. Then, after you use it for a while, you cannot imagine how you functioned without it.

For example, I use the service to preserve and organize things like recipes, instruction manuals, home-repair records, and receipts for major purchases. Most of these items were "clipped" from Web pages using the Evernote plug-in for my browser, though that process has always been a little clunky. Sprint sells Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Gear on October 4

Sprint will sell the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch starting Friday, October 4, the carrier confirmed on Monday.

The 5.7-inch smartphone will cost an enormous $349.99 with a new two-year service agreements or for customers eligible for upgrades.

T-Mobile will make the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 available for preorder starting Wednesday, the carrier announced on Monday.

Samsung is going 64-bit too. But when?

Apple drew plenty of oohs and aahs this week when it revealed the first 64-bit chip for smartphones on Tuesday.

Samsung immediately chimed in, saying it is going to do the 64-bit thing too.

Report: Apple will bring text-to-speech conversion to Notes

Apple has filed for a patent for a forthcoming feature that could convert text to speech in its Notes application.

According to Patently Apple, the tech giant filed for the patent in Europe. In the filing that Patently Apple discovered, Apple said it planned a new version of its iOS Notes app that would allow users to first translate text into one of several other languages, and then convert it to speech.

Galaxy Gear goes glam with smartwatch accessories

NEW YORK -- Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch is about to get a little more fashionable.

The Korean electronics giant has partnered with designer Dana Lorenz on jewelry to accompany its wearable computing device, including spiky metal charms that can attach to the watch's strap. While the line doesn't include custom bands for the Gear just yet, that could change in the future.
