LG Electronics lavished its appliances business with a big chunk of time and three speakers during its presentation at the Consumer Electronics show, while it also unveiled its Lifeband Touch smartwatch, new TV and home theater products, and the planned US launch of its G Flex smartphone.

The Korean electronics maker unveiled the news at a press conference in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay hotel, as part of CES press day. How much would you pay for a 110-inch Ultra HDTV?

Got room in your home for a 110-inch Ultra HDTV? If so, Samsung has a new model that should be headed your way early next year.

On sale starting Monday in South Korea, the 110-inch television is Samsung's largest UHD TV, roughly the size of a king-size bed. The TV's resolution of 8 million pixels is four times the level of detail found in standard HDTVs.

Verizon serves Android 4.4 to Droid Ultra, Maxx, Mini

Verizon on Thursday announced that the Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini are receiving Android 4.4 updates. The trio of smartphones are among the first carrier-branded smartphones to pick up the most recent version of Android.

As expected, the update adds features such as full-screen mode, color emoji support, enhanced security, and an improved camera. Also included is support for the Fitbit tracker and Motorola's DroidZap 2.0 software.

Amazon Studios to begin shooting original series in 4K

As the world moves into higher and higher digital resolution, production companies have to keep up. Amazon Studios appears to be looking to one such company to lead the charge in shooting its television series with 4K technology.

The company announced Monday that it plans to shoot all of its 2014 full-length original series, as well as any new pilots, in 4K ultra HD.

Owners of Sony's Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra should now start to see Android 4.3 pop up on their phones.

Sony spilled the beans about the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra on Monday but cautioned that the actual arrival time of the Android update will vary by market and carrier. Android 4.3 offers several enhancements and tweaks for Xperia phones.

Ultra Mobile offers free minutes to international calls in 75 countries

Ultra Mobile, an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) under T-Mobile, announced that starting tomorrow, it will give its customers 1,000 free minutes a month for international calls to more than 70 countries. The carrier will throw in free, unlimited SMS texting to more than 190 countries as well.

This service expands on Ultra Mobile's previous Ultra Zero plan, which was introduced in August.

Ultra Recall Portable bills itself as an information management tool for Windows, but it doesn't sync with all the places the information may already exist.
