Perfectly Clear for Android makes your pictures look right

There are several Android photo-editing apps with autocorrection, but none of them are as good as Athentech's Perfectly Clear for iOS. Perfectly Clear for Android, however, seems to top it.

Perfectly Clear basically does one thing -- autocorrect photos. If you're looking for filters or editing tools, you'll have to look elsewhere. But for quickly fixing underexposures, poor white balance, soft details, or dull colors, this is your app.

The interface has been redesigned from the iOS version for better workflow and the processing has been reengineered to take full advantage of newer Android devices, giving it … Read more

Yahoo, Clear Channel strike digital radio partnership

Yahoo is teaming up with radio giant Clear Channel on a distribution and cross-promotional deal, expanding on its strategy of striking content-sharing deals with traditional media brands.

The companies announced a partnership late Wednesday in which Yahoo will use Clear Channel's iHeartRadio platform as its official digital radio service. As part of the multi-year deal, Yahoo will carry nearly a dozen live Clear Channel events annually, as well as live video from this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.

iHeartRadio boasts a monthly audience of about 45 million unique listeners and 80 million downloads of its mobile … Read more

How to unlock seven new Clear themes

When Clear was first released, it quickly became the No. 1 paid app in the App Store, helping iOS users everywhere become more organized. Immediately after release, it was discovered there was three hidden themes in the app. We covered how to unlock the themes shortly after, and then began to wait patiently for an update with new themes.

With today's update, our wish has been granted, and thanks to Touch Arcade, we already know the hidden themes and how to unlock them. In total, there are seven new themes you can potentially unlock.

Michael Robertson bets on talk-radio cataclysm

Talk radio is careening toward a technology revolution and tech entrepreneur Michael Robertson may be the man to lead it.

Six months after launching Dar.fm, billed as a TiVo for radio, Robertson's startup has expanded the number of stations it offers listeners access to from 100 to 5,000. The company enables subscribers to record, in a way similar to TV DVRs, from among more than 20,000 radio shows, including Rush Limbaugh, and NPR's Fresh Air and Car Talk. The service then streams or downloads the shows to PCs, mobile phones, or set-top boxes.

Robertson has … Read more

AllClear ID offers free ID theft mobile app

A Texas company is releasing a free mobile app today that will alert people if their personal data has been stolen and makes it into the hands of criminals.

AllClear ID offers identity fraud protection services to consumers when their data has been exposed by an attack on a corporate database or other compromise. For instance, Sony hired the company to help its 75 million PlayStation Network customers after the system was hacked and their names, addresses, e-mail addresses and other information were exposed last April.

While very few of the data breach incidents actually result in harm to consumers, … Read more

Clear Stick Atlas offers true plug-and-play mobile Internet

Mobile USB modems are not new, and all of them generally require some software to start the cellular connection. But not the one Clear announced today.

The wireless carrier, known mostly for its unlimited 4G data plans, introduced the Stick Atlas, the first USB cellular modem on the market that doesn't require software at all.

The company says that the moment the device is plugged into a USB port, the computer will gain access to the Internet, much like when the computer is plugged into a network port.… Read more

Getting started with Clear (video)

Clear is in a class of its own when it comes to both user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) in an iPhone app. It's simple, yet elegant as Jason Parker described it.

The no-frills approach to adding, deleting, and completing tasks with such a minimal UI can confuse some people at times, though. This short video walk-through will cover the basics, enough to get you started using Clear.

Once you get the hang of the gestures, moving around the app is intuitive. As I mentioned in the video, you can unlock up to three themes, each changing the … Read more

The Clear method to complete tasks

I wrote my previous app collection about Advanced task managers on iOS, but a new app came to my attention this week that's too good to pass up.

Clear (99 cents) is a to-do list app that lets you use simple gestures to manage your tasks with an interface that's as intuitive as it is easy on the eyes. People seem to like this simple task manager, because it's now No. 1 in the iTunes App Store. This app won't take the place of Reminders or other scheduling apps that offer alarms--Clear sticks to simple list making, and it does a fine job.… Read more

How to unlock three hidden themes in Clear, the new iOS task app

Clear, which is a task-managing app for the iPhone, launched and almost instantly became No. 1 in the App Store.

The rich UI, mixed sound effects, and a long list of usable gestures, make for a unique experience on your iPhone. There really isn't another app out there like it.

In the settings for the app you will find themes, five in total. One thing you may not know is that there are actually three (that I can find/know of) themes that can be unlocked by the user in the app itself. Here is what each of them … Read more

Clear Spot Voyager review: Big deal in tiny package

The Clear Spot Voyager is tiny, just about the size of a large pebble, but it's in no way a small deal.

The mobile hot-spot router offers almost all you can expect from a mobile router including two very important factors for travelers: Internet speed and battery life. … Read more
