"They Rename & Douplicate until space full, then pester"

    February 8, 2013  |   By SmlBizGuy

    Version: 4shared 2.0

    Pros

On the positive side, if you're using this only to quickly give access to a file or two, this is slow and cumbersome, but sufficient.

    Cons

I've used this program for backup of my business docs. Specifically there are three issues that make this program almost useless. First, it randomly & liberally renames your files. If you have hyperlinks, it just wipes them out. You'll be renaming files everyday, if you can find them. Second, It duplicates your files. I have had files duplicated up to 75 times. This duplicating made my 9 gigs of word and excel documents into 17 gigs. Then, while trying to find each duplicated doc among thousands of docs and hundreds of folders, 4 sinc hammers your computer with over the limit warnings. Third, while its busy renaming your files and duplicating entire folders, it takes up so much processor and bandwidth it shuts you down until you shut it off. If you want to use this for a back up... Don't. Find a program that works. I didn't even mention the incessant pop ups that come fast and heavy when the program crashes. Nor did I bring up a catastrophic deletion event due to a 4 shared update.

    Summary

If this was my only or primary way of backing up my business docs I would be out of business many times over. If you want a project to tend to for a couple hours a week this is a great hobby. However, if you don't want to have to spend days finding and deleting duplications and days more tracking down files that 4sync has renamed, all while the program crashes lock up your computer and 4shared pesters you to pony up more money for the space to save all the copies it made of your files, PLEASE FIND ANOTHER PROGRAM.

    "DON'T DO IT!!!!"

    May 30, 2012  |   By ladysharlyne

    Version: 4shared 2.0

    Pros

Its a form for downloading books

    Cons

This programme embeds itself deeply into your computer. If you want to delete it it is near to impossible without a pro Uninstaller program that I had to download just to get rid of the worm this programme puts into your system. It changes your home page options on log in. I kept changing my Firefox back to default. Would sign on again and there was the 4shared homepage. I emailed the company and they sent me a list of how to get rid of it on all browsers. THAT DIDN'T WORK and they would not answer anymore emails.

    Summary

this company should be reported for their programme is the worst case of a worm/trojan I have ever seen in my life. The company send you a step that does not work to get rid of it. You do a program uninstall in windows and in searching it shows the 4shared gone yet it is in your system and constantly changing your browser homepage to it. I like to use the prompt to go back to my last tabs. 4Shared will change the home page to itself and keep changing when you try to change it back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAMME

    "Steer clear of this website"

    March 9, 2012  |   By reviewer80

    Version: 4shared 2.0

    Pros

Nothing most other services don't also do.

    Cons

This company runs a scam where if you upgrade for just a single month they will continue charging you until you complain to PayPal. And if you buy a second single month of premium access they'll start charging you twice every single month until you complain to PayPal. Absolute scam, using deceiptful tactics to rip people off.

Use Picasa 3 or equivalent instead!

"4shared online app surely makes filesharing comfortable"

    December 2, 2010  |   By YegorOstapenko

    Version: 4shared 2.0

    Pros

The social activity function is really cool. There's no need to search for cool stuff anymore as other users do it for yourself :). All you need is to subscribe to a user and you'll get a notification each time he or she updates.

    Cons

Actually, I like absolutely everything about 4shared online application but sometimes it doesn't always work as fast as I would like. Might be my Internet connection speed is letting me down though.

    Summary

I've been using this application for a year and it seems always get better with each update. I really like the new design.
