    "Did not like"

    August 18, 2011  |   By howardferns

    Pros

Small size download. Syncs really fast. Window opens with all your files on it, making for easier transfer. Up to 15GB free storage.

    Cons

Soon as I downloaded it went through a lengthy update procedure. They gave me a ludicrous 36 characters password , how the heck am I supposed to remember that? They delete your account and everything in it if you don't use it for 30 days.

    Summary

Another dislike: when you exit, a popup asks are you really sure. 2 clicks instead of 1, grrr... Like Chuck Berry sang, too much monkey business. I'll stick with Dropbox, which I've no complaints with.

I'm giving 4Shared another try because some big improvements have obviously been made since I wrote my comments.
Unlike last August, you can now choose your own password when you sign up.
The 30 days without logging in before they close your account has been increased to 180 days.
You can now tick a box if you don't want the 'Are you sure' reminder every time you exit.
The free account is now set at up to 10 GB, but that's still 5 times more than Dropbox's 2 GB. I increase my stars rating to 4!

    howardferns,
i'm using 4shared sync almost 2 months and noone asked me to enter such long passwords (i'd become crazy). it updates without any passes!!!!
and checking up whether i'm sure or not to exit is a great thing. there were couple of times when that 2nd click rescued me!!!!!!
4shared is great! and much more cheaper!

I didn't really get the cons of 4shared Sync, written by howardferns, regarding the pop-up, asking if you're sure of exiting the app))) It seems to me, that every single app has such pop-up windows, which are, btw, useful for people, like me, who press "Exit" buttons by mistake)).

As for my personal impressions of 4shared Sync, I really enjoy using it, much because of relevant simplicity in the intreface and the amount of provided storage space.

The functionality goes without saying - all features, concerning file syncing, and file sharing are included.

In a whole, thank you, 4shared!
