Version: 3DVirtual Figure Drawing Studio (Female) 2
"Not an adequate substitute for figure drawing classes"
Summary: Overall: This appears to be a program that was created using animations from a Poser file. As such, it is good only for general studies of position, much like the wooden posable figures often used by artists.
Features: Only one figure to study -- a female. Disadvantages of this "virtual" figure as opposed to real-life drawing are as follows: this figure has poorly formed ankles; her fatty tissues and relaxed muscles do not respond to gravity; the nuances of tendons and muscles under tension are absent; in short, good for general positioning only, not for detailed figure drawing. As such, however, the poses that are presented are well chosen (with the exception of the last one, which is intentionally erotic). It allows one to view it's pose animations from many angles, and to stop the figure at any time during the animation.
Interface: The interface focuses more on looks than practicality. The buttons are too small to be easily recognized as buttons. Once they are, their function is not always obvious.
Ease of Use: Other than interface problems mentioned above, the ease of use is adequate. All of the configurable options are readily available, once you know what they are.
Stability: The buttons do not always respond properly (the help button will be activated if you click on the slider and drag the mouse onto the help button).
Overall: May be a useful tool for one who is already intimately familiar with the human form. Definitely not a substitute for life-drawing classes for sincere illustrators.
