"Tricky Setup, But Well Worth The Effort"

    December 12, 2009  |

    iPhone-ish interface; Sound clarity

    Non-intuitive setup

On install, 3CXPhone asks for: Extension, ID, password and IP of external PBX. The answers: YourVOIP#, YourVOIP#, VOIPpassword, and IP or URL of your PBX provider (in my case: "callcentric.com"). NOW you know everything required for easy installation.

Where this softphone shines is sound clarity... better than my Panasonic POTS phone... And infinitely better than CallCentric's softphone (which emulates a worn-out record quite believably).

Beyond fabulous sound and cool look... you get a 3-line phone and a few other features.

The 3CXPhone doesn't do a lot, but what it does, it does really really well.
