amazing product.... especially if you are a frequent downloader
Pros: first of all, i have to say that my feedback is regarding bufferzone home, which you can download at trustware.com.
what it does is that it creates a trusted programs and not trusted ones.
it operates the untrusted programs in a quarantine area (no loss to functionality!) but these programs cannot access the trusted programs to change them (thus protecting you), at the same time it produces a secure document section which cannot be accessed from untrusted programs (so protecting your privacy).
its brilliant if you download alot of programs and like to try diffrent programs, because you can operate them withing the bufferzone (untrusted zone) and if you didnt like them just clear them and your computer would be just as you started!
they also have one which is specifically for p2p programs, so its like creating a firewall around your private files when you are on emule and others.
even if you just surf the net, i was amazed when i found out that all the cookies i have downloaded (accidentally!) where actually in the buffer zone (untrusted zone) and by clearing the buffer zone they are just gone! magic!
the one cool feature that i liked was it puts a red line around the programs that run in the buffer zone so you know where you stand (your browser would automatically be in the untrusted zone) and you can take programs out of the untrusted zone by a right click.
this program is the frequent downloaders dream, if there was anything fishy about the software you downloaded (spyware, malware, virus...etc.) its not going to affect your computer because technically speaking you are in quarantine!
well done trustware you are on a winner here.
Cons: i am yet to experience any problem with this product... i cannot honestly fault it... and if you join their forum you will be able to have some input in the making of the software , so how about that for a popular software?
