    "Not what I expected?>...."

    January 22, 2010  |   By jdknechtges

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

Typical questions from firewall at system monitoring programs. 360 didn't ask for elevated privileges during install. Desktop scrolls side to side.

    Cons

Upon quitting the program, it systematically tried to access and gain control of every running file or process on my computer...quicken, firefox, svchost, wmplayer...and the list goes on and on. Never had that happen with other desktop managers.

    Summary

Bottom line, I don't trust it. You may, but I don't. What might have happened if I didn't have absolute security on my home network. Try at own risk.

    "Great program"

    December 31, 2009  |   By DjSharperimage

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

Its like Dual Screen; This is the only program that actually does what I want it to; by creating more space on my current desktop; instead of like other programs that just makes more of the same screen and still has all the icons stuck on it

    Cons

You have to use your mouse to scroll across the screen; there needs to be assignable hot keys that will snap you to a certain point on the screen that you have marked out

    Summary

This is the best program on the market; I have tried every single one out there; It still needs alot of improvements and more options

    Updated on Dec 31, 2009

Nevermind I was wrong about the con's
    Seems like there already are HOTKEYS in the program;
    they just didnt list it in the program;

    DESKTOP PANNING AND SCROLLING SHORTCUTS

in addition to the standard ways of panning the desktop, using the QuickNav and by "pushing" the mouse curser against the edge of the screen, there are also a couple of different scrolling shortcuts that you might not be aware of.

    (i) You can pan the desktop using the standard scrolling wheel on the mouse. To do this, bring the desktop into focus (shortcut: Windows key + M) and simply scroll the wheel on the mouse and the desktop will pan left or right.

(ii) You can also pan the desktop one full screen at a time by pressing the Windows key + left/right arrow, or alternatively Windows key + < or > . To get a smaller pan distance, pressing Windows Key + Shift + left/right arrow, will pan the desktop 50 pixels at a time.

    "Sorry...it's crap"

    December 28, 2009  |   By nmweatherman

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

    Nothing...

    Cons

Two wallpaper choices and they suck

    Summary

What's the point of this virtual desktop? It gave me two wallpapers that appeared on my desktop...the big deal here seems to be that you can click and grab your desktop with your mouse and move it horizontally in a 360-degree "view." Your desktop icons go with the view, right or left.

Install widgets? My version of XP doesn't accomodate widget files.

    Wow.

    Next?

    October 30, 2009  |   By truereviewer1969

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

    Pretty backgrounds

    Cons

cannot make ny desktp items stick, when scrolling you aro your start up screen at a single click and they are off centre and you need to physically move the slider, cannot drag windows to different part of desktop easily,

    Summary

cannot make ny desktp items stick, when scrolling you aro your start up screen at a single click and they are off centre and you need to physically move the slider, cannot drag windows to different part of desktop easily, the ads are annoying and come up too regularly,(as mentioned perviously this is part of their business model and they receive revenue from these ads appearing)
the apps are cute but not very usefull, the java games are slow and cumbersome and not user friendly.

"360desktop is great webenabling desktop softward"

    September 13, 2009  |   By Testpilot09

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

A range of new ways to navigate around the desktop using mouse, quicknav (slider) icon features etc. Lets me make my own images and embed my favourite web content in it, like my premier league tables and the NASA website!

    Cons

It uses a lot of RAM but machines are coming up to spec to meet it anyway.

Its cool cause it expands your destop by 4.

    Cons

and I can't download any other backgrownds, and it won't load my widgets.

"Cool program but seems to require access to web site??"

    May 13, 2009  |   By jctcom

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

It's great being able to create my own panoramas and there are hundreds of panoramas to be downloaded from the online gallery.

    Cons

Currently won't run and by coincidence the web site is down. Does this program require internet access to the web site in order to run? If so why?

    Summary

I was very happy with it for a few weeks since I found it. Now I am a bit leery about keeping it as it seems to require access to their web site. Why is that necessary and what kind of info is it passing on?

    "very interesting possibilties !"

    April 25, 2009  |   By NikRik

    Version: 360desktop public beta

    Pros

I just installed this app ,so I have not yet realized all the possibilities ! However its much less expensive then adding a second monitor and except for a constant view you would enjoy with second monitor.

    Cons

The only issuse I have so far is not being able to keep your Windows background intact when this app is up and running.

    Summary

I believe this freeware app is one to be tried and enjoyed . A small download at 5+ M.B.'s ,it leaves a little footprint on your H.D. i would recomend others try it ,hey you can always uninstall it ! I actually paid almost $10 for what I now know to be a useless app called desktoplet ,big deal a small box that shows you your desktop icons, 360desktop does so much more for free ! You may actually find you like 360Desktop very much if you are the type that likes multible windows & apps. active on your PC !
