I'm sorry there indeed was an error in the installer. It must have happened when the installer was transfered from the development platform Windows XP to the uploading platform Mac OSX . I immediately recompiled the installer and it should work by tomorrow morning (GMT+1), thank you for reporting this error!

As far as I know there is no error in the installer nor in the service provided by Download.com, I think the error is in your internet connection. Let this also be a call to all 36IC users, please think twice before reviewing 36IC, every review and complaint has been handled and I worked hard for 4 months to finish version 4.4. Now I'm still getting complaints about issues that aren't even true or are not my fault. None of the reviews are right. What do I have to do to satisfy you people?
