"Typical windows overly complicated software"
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
none, well OK, it did uninstall
Cons
A learning curve steeper than Mt. Everest
Summary
All I wanted was to be able to convert from one format to another. Should have been easy. It wasn't. Why oh why doesn't software comparable to Thorston Lemke's GraphicConverter for the Mac exist for windows?

"Does not support FPX conversion."
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
no comment
Cons
Blue text on Black background is impossible to see.
Summary
The description is wrong or the product is faulty.

"Converts one file at a time"
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
Converts virtually any format to any other.
Cons
This program does not have a "batch" mode. You can convert only one files at a time.
Summary
It's free and is perfectly adequate for converting the occasional file, one at a time. If you handle a lot of files, find another program that has a "batch" mode.

"Good Ideas and well implemented."

Pros

Cons
Haven't found any yet, still messing with it to find bugs.

"Requires a certain unspecified video mode."
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
Absolutely none.
Cons
Could not get it to run using my current video settings.
Summary
It installed and said it would run, but I had to the Exit button to start that process (i.e., it didn't say to do so). Then, it showed a very hard to see menu with a black background asking me if I wanted to default to it instead of my applications (the explanation was understandable, but hard to view). I deselected all of the choices (i.e., execute my existing program to display a GIF, rather than have "36-image..." do so). Then it showed its start-splash pop-up, and then an error pop-up, claiming that my video card wasn't adequate, and that I should change video settings, which are very low resolution on my Win Vista SP2 system (oddly, the splash pop-up said that low rez was required!). So, I tried two higher resolutions, and even 16-bit resolutions, but it still complained, so I nuked the program.

"Horrible, unless your camera has .7 megapixels or less"
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
None, unless it works well with tiny images
Cons
It won't work with anything larger than one megapixel!!! USELESS
Summary
USELESS, HORRIBLE, DON"T DOWNLOAD IT

"Includes spyware!"
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
I was lucky that I didn't install it.
Cons
According to the latest version of MalwareBytes, the installation file includes "Adware.Eshoper" spyware. Once I saw that, I deleted the file.
Summary
So either Malwarebytes is wrong, or CNET doesn't check files as well as they think.
-
"I couldn't even use it."
Version: 36-Image Converter 4.6.1.98
Pros
I never got that far.
Cons
It can't open and work with anything larger than 1004 x 698.
Summary
This software is useless to me if I can't open my pictures, zoom and fix flaws. BOO.
