Gmail

While the basic iPhone e-mail client is doing a decent job, Apple hasn't made any significant updates in a long time. The result is that users are left with an aging em-ail app. This is where Google's Gmail app steps in to fill the void.

Allowing up to five Gmail accounts (you can only check Gmail with this app), the software features a notifications center that sends an alert when new mail arrives. The interface is reminiscent of Sparrow (which Google bought earlier this year), with easy-to-navigate menu and buttons. The ability to send attachments, read threaded conversations, and search through all of your e-mail folders quickly makes Gmail a must-have iPhone e-mail app. Read full review
