CNET Editors' review
1by1 is a no-frills audio player that lets users browse their music collections much as they would in Windows Explorer. There's not a lot to it, but we appreciated its simplicity and its unique design.
The program's interface is quite plain, with a tree-style directory on the left showing the contents of the user's computer, and a pane on the right showing selected files. Users can browse through the directory just as they would for any other file, or they can have the program search forward or backward for audio files. Despite its simplicity, the program's interface does offer several options for customization, including changeable background and text colors and the capability for the user to specify what kind of information is displayed for each track. As far as features go, the program doesn't have much that impressed us. However, it does feature an equalizer and audio enhancer, and has quite a few settings that let the user customize their experience. We do wish that the program had come with a Help file, although there's not too much about it that the average user couldn't figure out. Overall, 1by1 neither impressed nor offended us; it's a simple audio player that will let you listen to your songs without much fuss. Sometimes, that's enough.
1by1 is free. The program comes as a ZIP file and installs a desktop icon without asking, but it uninstalls cleanly. We recommend this program to all users.

"Great program."
Version: 1by1 1.72
Pros
It is lovely to use this program for playing mp3's and to finally be free from another which I could mention!
Cons
None so far.
Summary
Easy to use program that is simpler to set up and far less annoying than the equivalent program that comes installed on most PCs. It has no annoying visualisations. It is easy to use. It has a well-explained help file. It has lots of options and nice clever features. Very highly recommended.

Cons
Hm, not easy finding cons...

"Fine little player for MP3's, but..."
Version: 1by1 1.68
Pros
Easy, simple, low profile. Plays music as well as the big boys.
Cons
Doesn't play WMA. Tiny buttons with no options to make em larger or add text. Rather ugly.
Summary
If all your music is MP3, try it out. Half my library is WMA, so I can't use it. Much, much simpler to use than any of the full featured programs. I hope they add WMA in the future, and tweak up the interface a bit. To uninstall, just delete the program directory. Great start -- keep going!

"Light folder player"
Version: 1by1 1.68
Pros
Using it is like using explorer. Just one click to open a folder and start to play. Most easy to search folders. Definitely won't eat your cpu.
Cons
When the folder is all listened it won't start the next folder. You'll have to click. Never ending playing would be nice.
Summary
Besides the con 1by1 is still my favourite player.

"a great little program"
Version: 1by1 1.55
Pros
well the great thing(s) about this progrogram are that it's really small, under 1 M, so it doesn't use alot of memory and cpu, and the other thing is that it's a really good player...it will never crash:)...
Cons
the bad thing about it is that it doesn't play anything else other than mp3:((.. and it really sucks to open a different program like wmp or something else to play a wma or some other audio format :|
