(4/1/03)

In past articles we’ve highlighted antivirus products, but as strong believers in balanced reporting, we also feel the need to take a look at those programs that celebrate the computer virus. While they may not receive the attention of virus eradicators, the few applications that enable viruses enjoy a small following. These are people who don't blindly accept value judgments handed down by computer professionals that all viruses are bad. While reading through a virus database causes most people to cringe, the virus fan looks at each cataloged bit of code the way an ornithologist peruses a field guide to birds.

These three applications can get you on the road to virus fandom.

KIL Virus Infector
Stay on the cutting-edge by letting this application download the latest viruses for you. KIL Virus Infector goes out and finds the viruses you want, so you don't have to wait around for one to appear in your e-mail.

Virus Code Manager
Keep track of the viruses you download with this software. Virus Code Manager organizes your viruses in its library, letting you access and run them easily whenever you want to crash your computer.

Screen Devastator
Watch helplessly as this screensaver plays scenes of destruction while viruses run rampant through your operating system. Screen Devastator comes with its own library of viruses, saving you the trouble of finding them yourself.
