Version 1.005.002 seperated out effect graphics into its own window in the effect editor, made importing graphics for effect graphics to automatically fill in their width and height options, replaced direction options throughout the editor to be more stylized.

Version: 001 Action/RPG Maker 1.005.002
Pros: Easy, Free, Quick, Customizable, Limitless. From what i have tried there is nothing better for making RPG, Action, Shooter, Gta clone or adventure games.
Cons: It is by no means flawless. Few bugs, no standard sounds and crap music, can lag on detailed maps, no alpha support for sprites and no control over installer spec's. puzzle, Fps and car racing games may be easier to make on Game Maker.
Summary: If you want to make an RPG, Action, Shooter, Gta clone or adventure game get it. Its easy to use, quick and pretty limitless. However if you want to make a puzzle, Fps or car racing game- there are better engines out there.
